Spring 2015
Through an interaction design class during graduate school, we worked closely with the digital & emerging media department at Cooper Hewitt Museum for 7 weeks. Our goal was to create an application to engage audiences outside of the museum. Using Cooper Hewitt's Collections API, we designed and developed a scavenger hunt game.
lots of hidden collections people don't know existed.
The Cooper Hewitt team encouraged us to utilize the photo assets from the API. My team decided to create something that lets people explore a somewhat hidden collection out of all the massive database. While researching, we found the figurine collection was underexposed, although they have more than 400 objects with rich histories. Since the collection was so large it made the most sense to create a Scavenger Hunt type game to bring light to the figurines,

In the end, The Cooper Hewitt decided to include our project as a reference in a promotional video for their API as an open source resource. They are also considering using it in the children's learning center at the museum as well as adding it in the"Play" menu on their website.
